Hey Guys:

I am brand new. I just bought an 04 Fx35 and it rocks. I need
help though with a hitch. i have a carrier for my dirt bike and
I need to install a 2" inch hitch. I think I need a classIII because of the
tongue weight and I don't think a class II will handle my 300lb load
considering it only has a 1 1/4 opening, and the adapter will put extra
tork on the Tongue

The Hidden Hitch is the classII and I think will me installed higher (the facia
will be cut) and look the cleanest. The Curt class III (350 lb tongue capacity
and no adapter) will be more obvious, and though stronger, may take away
the looks of the car.

Does anyone have any other ideas???

Thanks,

Chuck

Hey there and welcome to the scene! No need to have 2 separate threads going so the threads were merged. The infiniti oem hitch is a class II and is the hidden hitch you referred to. It does and a 2 inch opening and does have a max capacity of 3000lbs. There have been many people with the oem hitch that have had no problems pulling jet ski's or dirt bikes. The oem hitch looks the cleanest and should be more then enough for your needs.

I suggest you just spend the extra money on the OEM hitch, it is a very clean look and gives you what you need. The cost of the hitch and wire harness should be around $450, installation obviously extra unless you do it yourself.
