Fx stop accelerating while driving, can someone help ?

My car stop accelerating while driving, i don't have a clue on what's going on. "service engine soon" , "slip" and "vdc" comes on.

I have to pull over, turn the ignition off. And start it back up, but it will do it again after a short period of time..

Can someone tell me what's wrong with my baby ?

Not sure if it's a big issue to you, but it'd be a big issue for me if my car stopped going on the freeway or anywhere else with a lot of other cars going fast...

I'm sure someone will chime in. I recall reading about similar symptom... can it be the MAF sensor being dirty or something? Experts will answer this soon.

Check to see that there is no water inside the ecu compartment behind the glove box. Sometimes water can seep into that area and if your ecu got wet then you will experience your exact symptoms.

my FX died randomly about 2 weeks ago, but i was sitting at a light. when i went to go when the light turned green it just died. started right back up again just fine, and made it all the way home, but the SES light was on. I did a ECU reset at home, and went out driving aruond and it came back on. I read that the SES light being solid indicates a problem with fuel delivery, and it could even be the gas cap not being installed correctly. i took the cap off,and put it back on. then did the ECU reset again. the light has been off ever since.

not sure if the ECU is trying so hard to compensate for the lack of a good seal at the gas cap that it just shits out. either way, it has been fine since then, and i've driven it every day.

I'M just getting tired the FX. my G never ever give me problems. i want to take it in to the dealership, but i know they gonna tell me some off the wall Bull!

How do i reset the ECU ?

Ok i'm starting to really get worried for the FX if i'm not already. well today i jumped in the FX to do that ECU reset. but when i cranked the car up the engine started to shake. now thats not normal at all. well after all of that the Service engine light still on there. never got around to doing the reset. so i said let me go ahead and take the FX around the block for a spin. after making 1 full spin around the block, I was about to park it back up. because i wasn't to sure about driving her for another lap. as soon as i almost parked the car. the damn car wouldn't accelerate.

Can you guys pretty much help me out here. what could be the worst damage i'm looking at ?

or what do you guys think is wrong with my Ride ?

Maybe you can stop by a local parts store and see if they can see if the car is spitting out any codes and then we can go off that.

I used to goto AutoZone for the free ODBII rental but they stopped lending it out.

So I went and bought a nice one from ebay for $100, and already used it on the FX just to try to read stuff. Also used it to clear some codes for my other car.
Good investment IMO.

May be your transmission is screwed up. Do you have any mod to the car that needs to access the ECU compartment, like a ground kit.

My previous experience is the radiator failed and hit the transmission oil line and caused leak and the car ended up having acceleration lag for 3 to 5 seconds.

Check for any leaking. Your best bet will be bring it to the dealership.
