Disappearing Car Doors! Whoa!

woh, is that real? that gotta be real major reconstruction to do something like that, they look like there trying to get a manufacturer to pick up on it for new construction... they may have patented it & if someone picks up on it there rich, but to retrofit an existing car would be extreme to say the least... gotta be at least 30k worth of custom fabrication, at least, & that's even if the particular car is do-able to begin with.... that is definatley sick. gotta add at least 6-700 pounds to the vehicle weight too I would think
 
May be good for a pimp my ride and extreme auto ads but I don't see a huge added benefit for the normal ride especially when you consider the cost . Interesting tho.

I think it's a cool concept, and I'm sure there are still impact beams in the doors from a side collision standpoint. This is the first time I had seen it.:tongue:
