Deleting the resonator

I've been thinking of removing the resonator from my stock FX35's exhaust, but I kind of want to hear what it sounds like first. Or, at least get some responses from people with stock exhausts that have had this done. What do you think of the sound? And, how much did you end up paying to get it done?

I did this to my 35. It is a little louder. At start up it doesn't sound as good. Once it warms up it sounds better/louder than stock. $30 total w labor

the resonator is the small pre muffler muffler! It gets a little of the rasp out of the exhaust note and makes it quieter. It is a luxury car and most would want it quiet. Most people on this forum probably do not want a super quiet exhaust.

ok so is it bolted on or welded on?

Reason i ask is because if it's bold on i can have a shop make me a straight pipe to swap out and when my lease ends i can put it back and return it... Don't want to pay a shop to weld on and off.

Here is a picture of the resonator on a stock layout..

I think damayor deleted the resonator on his fx45 but I don't believe he found any sound differences

on the 35 there is definately a difference. My girlfriend even asked me what i did. Not major diff but you can tell something was done. I took it to a muffler shop to get a est on a flowmaster set up and they asked me what i did. They said that can't be stock.

Was it all sound or was there a change in MPG/Performance???

i had my resonator taken off, liked it for a while then got tired off the super raspy sound in the 1st 5 mins of my car being on, so i just put it back on and took off my muffler. sooooooo worth it.

i recently took my resonator back off, so now i bsically have straight pipes from the cats to the tips, i still have the deeper louder sound except with some rasp added and alot louder. ill upload videos soon
