I contacted them and they said they can make us higher compression pistons to get more power.

I do have a friend that will help me install these, but is this really worth it?? What HP/TQ can I really gain?

They also mentioned getting a ECU flash. So not sure if Technosquare if I tell them can do this or if the Unichip will do anything.

Thoughts? I don't know what a higher compression will do...

Consider all the salt in IL as well while thinking that. The turbo will be exposed to all the salt and snow.. I had the TOP grille bolts rusted in MA with the salt.. Can't think what'll be the turbos like after a winter.

Plenty of turbo kits low in the engine bay without a plastic cover underneath... I haven't heard of issues there.

It is semi-exposed, you can always make a custom guard for it.

I always thought of maybe hollowing out a muffler and kinda disguising it.
 
Sounds interesting Ed, keep us informed on what you decide on doing. I agree with both Frank and Eg3 on their points. If you want to go FI at the end then you will have to undoubtedly lower our VKDE's compression ratio of 10.5 in order to make more power with a SC or turbo kit. But if you plan on keeping it NA then increasing the compression can give you more power but must increase the streength of the internals at the same time with stronger pistoms, rods etc. Looking forward to your plans on this.
