I don't know if this will work for everyone, but here is what happened to me. I had a portable Sirius in my old car and when I got the 06 FX, it had XM in it. I called XM and asked how much to subscribe being a current Sirius customer (since they have merged). They told me $16 a month for XM with the best of Sirius. I was paying $6.99 a month (on brothers main account) with Sirius. Total ripoff with XM, so I purchased the Sirius receiver and hooked it up last Saturday (3/14/09). Today I get a flyer in the mail from XM asking me to come back for $4.99 a month for prepaid 6 months or $6.49 a month for a prepaid annual subscription. That is if I reactivate the receiver in my car with an XM Everything account. They want $12.95 for this usually. Keeping mind that the flyer wasn't for the best of Sirius, but I figured if there was anyone about to re-up their subscription, you could unhook the receiver for a few days and wait till you get the flyer. Could save you up to 60%.
