03 FX45 Rear Hatch won't open!

Hi Guys,
It's finally warming up here in the Bay Area (San Jose), and went to open the rear hatch on my 03 45 at Home Depot, and no go. It seems the sun baked plastic shroud above the 3rd brake lamp expands in the sun and hangs up on the body. Once it cools down, everything is fine. Anybody seen this, and have a solution?

one of the original recalls is the plastic separating , check the tsb, it may be warranty covered replaceable, but it's been some time.
